Hunger is a Global Problem

Today, 25,000 people around the world will starve to death. Millions of others will go to sleep without eating. Poverty and abandonment grip many areas of our planet, even as we take for granted the food placed on our own tables.

Hunger is such a big and far-reaching problem; it can seem impossible to fix. But, one meal at a time, we can save lives and give hope. That’s our approach as Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity. We provide food assistance in many of our 37 missions in six different countries, delivering food to those who hunger, but also bringing spiritual and emotional nourishment to those who have been forgotten.

If you are passionate about fighting hunger, we invite you to partner with us and help us help more people.

How We Fight Hunger

As Catholic missionaries, we seek to preserve the Faith among the spiritually abandoned. But we’ve found that before someone can be open to the Gospel message, we first have to attend to their most basic physical needs: water, shelter, clothing and food.

That’s why in almost all of our 37 missions, we operate a food pantry, soup kitchen, grocery delivery service or some other food assistance ministry. In many cases, this is how we begin our relationships with the people we serve: by helping them meet their most basic needs. And the number of people who need this type of support is growing every year.

Here are a few of the missions that your gift will support:

Hungry in Honduras

Did you know? Roughly 63% of the population in Honduras lives in complete poverty. In almost half of these areas, chronic malnutrition is commonplace.

For the men and women near our mission in Comayaguela, Honduras, access to food and water is extremely scarce. Fr. Cesar and the other Missionary Servants in Comayaguela bring food to the villages nearby, providing hot meals for hundreds of men, women and children.

Help support this ministry and allow Fr. Cesar and our other priests and Brothers to serve more hungry families.

Migrants in Mecca

Migrant workers and their families immigrate from Mexico and Central America to Mecca and Coachella, California in search of seasonal work. These families lean on their faith to get them through the challenges of leaving behind their homeland in search of a better life. They know that God is with them, but many of them lack the basic necessities to live day to day. Missionary Servant priests and Brothers, like Fr. Francisco, operate a food pantry at Our Lady of Guadalupe mission in Mecca, serving hundreds of families with groceries each week.

Help Fr. Francisco and his fellow priests and Brothers serve more migrant families.

Food for the Homebound in Chicago

You don’t even need to leave the country to experience communities ravished by hunger. Consider the homebound, elderly and disabled who frequent the St. James Food Pantry in Chicago. These men and women rely on Fr. John and the other Missionary Servants who run this food pantry to help them secure basic needs.

Support this ministry with a donation and allow Fr. John and his fellow priests and Brothers to serve more of the homebound, elderly and disabled in Chicago’s inner-city.

Meals for the Elderly in Mississippi

Our mission in Camden, Mississippi, serves a community of elderly people who are spending their would-be Golden Years in poverty. They find food and companionship at our mission. Fr. Guy and the other Missionary Servant priests and Brothers recently expanded this food pantry to serve hot meals to more elderly men and women, but the need still outweighs our current efforts.

You can help us ensure that more elderly men and women get a hot meal.

Share a Meal; Share Hope

Your donation gives Trinity Missions an ongoing opportunity to deliver Christ-like compassion to the most neglected of His brothers and sisters. Together we can save lives, one meal at a time.
