On January 21, 2019, several of our priests and Brothers are making their way to World Youth Day 2019. St. John Paul II instituted the observance of World Youth Day in December 1985 as an annual gathering of youth and young adults for prayer, worship, and celebration of the Catholic faith. Every two or three years, an international gathering is held to bring all the youth and young adults together in one place with the Holy Father. This year the gathering is in Panama, and the theme is I am the servant of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. (Lk 1:38)
A team consisting of our priests and Brothers working in Vocations and Communications are heading to Panama today for the World Youth Day celebration this week. The Missionary Servants will be participating in several ways, especially in the vocational fair, which will take place in Parque Omar from January 21 to 24. If you are participating in the WYD, you can visit us at booth number 100.
If you can’t make it to Panama, we will go live on Facebook at different times throughout the celebration. You will also find updates on our website by clicking the WYD 2019 link in the upper right-hand side of our homepage.
Specific U.S. missions have been invited to participate by naming a young man, over 18, who will be part of our team of 20 that will be in attendance. Let us pray for the success of this event. See you soon, Panama!
