Spiritual writers often speak of our lives with God as a journey. Being on a journey is an apt expression for the life of a missionary — indeed, for the life of every Christian. It implies movement. The spiritual life begins when we are born into this world and continues until our death, which we Christians believe is being born to eternal life with God. A journey also typically involves traveling companions. In our case, it is the Triune God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — who accompanies us along the paths of our lives.
The common thread woven through each of these individual stories is the awareness that our God is truly God-with-us. No matter what evil may be present in the world, God will eventually overcome it. God will never abandon us, but rather is always actively and intimately involved with us.
As Trinity Missionaries, our journey with the Lord calls us to serve the neediest and most abandoned people. Our journey thus far has brought our priests and Brothers to Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras and across the United States. We don’t know exactly what the future holds for us, but we can be confident that God will continue to accompany us along whatever paths he has in store for our missionaries.
We realize that you, our kind and generous benefactors, are also accompanying us on our journey. Both spiritually and with the financial support you offer, you provide the means for us to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need. In a very real way, you let the people we serve know that God has not abandoned them. All of our Trinity Missionary priests and Brothers are both proud and humbled by your support.
As we continue our missionary journey together, you can count on a remembrance in our daily prayers, especially when we celebrate Mass. May God bless you!
