The Missionary Servants have assumed new missions in both Mississippi and California, working every day to spiritually empower all the people, educating every member of the family and engaging them in a vibrant and welcoming practice of our Catholic faith. With so many challenges created by poverty and even the wide geography of our many missions, it is no easy job. But then, if it was easy, you wouldn’t find us there! Our founder charged us to sow seeds of faith in “the tangled portion of God’s vineyard.” And that’s exactly where you find us.
Father Roberto Mena, S.T. has arrived in the Jackson, Mississippi area joining Fathers Raul Ventura, Odel Medina, and Brother John Skrodinsky. Fathers Odel and Roberto will be living in Carthage and Father Raul and Brother John will be living in Camden. Together they will continue our efforts in Canton, Camden and Kosciusko, Mississippi, and embark on new mission work in Carthage and Forest.
In addition, Father Francisco Valdovinos will assume pastoral responsibility for our newest mission in the Diocese of San Bernardino at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mecca, California. The area of Mecca has a large immigrant, migrant population as well as a large population of indigenous people from Michoacan, Mexico who are in need of our help.
It takes many hands to care for so many people in need. And that is where we, and they, count on you. You can once again be a missionary with us without ever leaving your home. Please support our missions today!
