Holy Week…A time to be Renewed, Loved and Empowered by Christ.

“Let us accept the grace of Christ’s Resurrection! Let us be renewed by God’s mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation and make justice and peace flourish.” — Pope Francis

"Now there was following him a great crowd of the people, and of women, who were bewailing and lamenting him. But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and your children." Luke 23:27-29

“Now there was following him a great crowd of the people, and of women, who were bewailing and lamenting him. But Jesus turning to them said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and your children.” Luke 23:27-29

As Pope Francis so eloquently stated, this is a time when we pray that the love and power that Jesus bestows upon us through his sacrifice will enter our spirit. “Let us become agents of mercy, channels through which God can water the earth…” Jesus calls each of us to be missionaries, to live Gospel values and to love one another as He loves us. Jesus needs all our hands to reach out to those who are in need of compassion and care. He needs our feet to carry Him to those who are sick or in prison. He needs our eyes to notice those who are homeless and destitute. He needs our ears to listen to the cries of the wounded. He needs our voices to speak to others about His endless love and grace.
